Third time is the charm?
This is the third launch blog post that I’m writing and it looks like it will actually be posted this time, yay! It has been quite a ride to get to this point. Finally after some personal circumstances, technical difficulties with my sewing machine as well as with the website the day is here. I’m feeling extremely happy but tired, haha, it has been really long two weeks. But mostly I feel only gratitude at this point.
I never thought I would receive so much support from everyone around me. I had prepared myself having to defend my ‘own little project’, but no, you guys have been amazing. Thank you! I don’t think I would have made it here without you. The endless hours my husband has been willing to put in to help me with building my website, advising and just been there and listening. And yes pushing me when things have felt a little overwhelming. I have learned so much about myself and of some great people that I have had the opportunity to work with this far. I feel blessed being able to do something I love and being able to combine and use all those skills that I have learned throughout the years. I am happy.
But how it all got started…
Doing something crazy for my “ 30th birthday”
A year and half ago a friend of mine, Esko, said to me as I was turning 30 years old that I should do something crazy that day. I’m not sure what he was thinking when he said that but I don’t think he had any idea that it was something I was craving for in some ways. I needed a change, something new, something of my own. Well that birthday came too fast and timing of doing anything particularly crazy just seemed to be off, if you don’t count us moving back to Canada. Now a year after our move I’m doing exactly that, something crazy, and for my 31st birthday. (Which passed couple of months ago but still. Things always get postponed a bit for one reason or another, right?) And that positively crazy thing for me is to open my own online store.
It’s hard to even explain everything that I have felt and learned during these past three or so months. I have got to know many very inspirational people and deepened some old friendships as well as made new ones.
I’m happy to share my launch with one of my oldest friends, Eija, who designed a collection for Lallu’s. She is such a fun to work with and one talented individual. I can’t wait to make many many more projects with her in the future. You can read more about her and her collection here.
I also have had an opportunity to work with some amazing and stylish mamas. They have been such an inspiration and I can only hope each one of them knows how great and strong they are. I can’t wait to launch their collection soon.
I’m so excited of all the upcoming projects with some truly talented people.
Humble thank you!
There has been so many of you. You each have touched my heart with your kindness and support. From my grandparents to the fabric store workers and owners – you have all made it possible for me to be able to do this. You are all super! Thank you! Kiitos!
